Annual meeting of HSPM members
As contributors to the Health System and Policy Monitor (HSPM), we were invited to attend the annual members' meeting held in Riga this year. Networking, exchange of experience with health policies, reforms or initiatives in EU and OECD countries, cooperation on articles and publications, as well as the development of the HSPM platform were the main points of the program of the 2-day meeting, in which Ľubica participated on behalf of Slovakia.
Health System and Policy Monitor is an innovative platform that provides up-to-date information on health systems, ongoing reforms, initiatives or changes in health policies. This is one of the main activities of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. It is an excellent follow-up to the publication of Health System reviews for individual countries within the WHO European region, as well as some other OECD countries. Health System Reviews are detailed elaborate reviews of health systems describing the functioning of the health system in a given country. They are regularly updated, Slovakia has its edition 2000, 2011, 2016. Peter, as a co-author, together with other experts, worked on the preparation of the last two editions. Daniela is the co-author of the 2016 edition, and all three of them, together with Ľubica, are currently working on the latest edition, which will be published in 2024. The team of authors also includes Martin Smatana and the editor from the European Observatory, Nathan Shuftan (pictured with Ľubica, Riga Stradina University).
