Ophthalmology in the countries of the V4
After +18 months of international collaboration between Warsaw School of Economics, Prague University of Economics and Business, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA) and University of Debrecen we are pleased to announce publishing the report on Good practices in financing healthcare services in ophthalmology including infographics for Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Ukraine.
Our findings helped to identify various areas where the treatment of cataract, glaucoma, vitrectomy, AMD, DME and corneal transplantation can be improved in these countries. There is room for improvement in financing options, quality control systems, reimbursement review, early detection measures as well as the use of advanced technologies. Ukraine can learn from the experience of the Visegrad Four countries, especially in areas such as financing mechanisms, treatment coverage, diagnostic screenings, and improving the quality and availability of eye surgery. Implementation of these practices would require careful consideration of Ukraine's specific health system and legal framework.
